November 28, 2011: Cooper Timberline Cast as Young Clark Kent in "Man of Steel"

The "Man of Steel" facebook fan-page is reporting that relatively unknown actor Cooper Timberline has been cast to play a young Clark Kent in the upcoming Superman reboot from director Zack Snyder.

According to IMDB, the 10 year-old Timberline has previously starred in two films; "The Rose" and "Metanoia." In addition to "Man of Steel", he is also currently filming "Of Men and Mavericks" which stars actors Jonny Weston, Gerard Butler and Elisabeth Shue. Timberline has also appeared in the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular."

Neither Warner Bros. or anyone from the Snyder camp has confirmed or denied this latest bit of casting news and it should be treated as strictly rumor for now.

"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Jonathon 'Pa' Kent, Diane Lane as Martha 'Ma' Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Sam Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Superman is scheduled to make his return to the silver screen on Friday, June 14, 2013.
