September 15, 2011: "Boys of Steel" Author Interviews Lesser Known Superman Stars
To bridge the gap between his book "Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman" and an upcoming 2012 book on Batman and Bill Finger, author Marc Tyler Nobleman has found and interviewed 100 "lost" stars of superhero/cartoon entertainment of the '70s and '80s - from the water skiing superheroes of Sea World to the original singer of the Scooby-Doo theme to the voice actors of the Wonder Twins.
Learn what happened to Aaron Smolinski (toddler Kal-El), Jeff East (teenaged Clark Kent), and Bo Rucker (the first person to comment on Superman himself - the pimp).
The inerview with Rucker is especially notable because the he has never given an interview before and, according to Nobleman, because he's a class act.
The interviews are sometimes hilarious and often poignant; many of these people have not been interviewed before and had no idea they have fans. You will also see many previously unpublished "then and now" photos and rare documents and mementos from various private collections.
Nobleman will be posting one interview per day on his blog (http://noblemania.blogspot.com/) between now and 10/12/11, with a few gaps for his blog's "regularly scheduled content."
