Director Zack Snyder is reportedly meeting with legendary writer, Frank Miller to seek advice on the storyline for the 2015 sequel to the blockbuster film, "Man of Steel."
Miller is known for his 1986 groundbreaking story, "The Dark Knight Returns", which pitted Batman and Superman against one another in an epic battle that resulted in Batman declaring victory over the Man of Steel with the assistance of a battle suit and a little Kryptonite.
Hinting that the "Man of Steel" sequel may borrow some elements of Miller's story, Snyder made a surprise announcement at the San Diego Comic Con that the 2015 movie would feature both Superman and Batman on screen together followed by actor Harry Lennix reading a passage from "The Dark Knight Returns."
According to The Independent, a source close to Miller stated that, "Frank had no idea the announcement in San Diego was going to happen so it did come as a surprise. He's going to be meeting up with Zack in the next few days to go over the plans for the Superman film so things should be clearer after that."
While fans will certainly rejoice over this latest development, it is still way too early to even speculate what aspects of Miller's story, if any, Snyder will choose to borrow from in the "Man of Steel" sequel.
Outside of primary cast members such as Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne returning for the sequel, it is still unknown who will land the role of Batman. Actor Christian Bale has stated on multiple occassions that he will not be returning to the role.
The "Man of Steel" sequel, which is rumored to be titled "Superman vs. Batman" or "Batman vs. Superman", is scheduled to be released in Summer, 2015.
