July 30, 2011: "Superman Returns" Original Opening Released On-Line

The deleted 5-minute long "Return to Krypton" sequence from "Superman Returns" is now available for viewing on-line.

The scene was intended to open the 2006 film and features in great detail Superman's (Brandon Routh) journey to the remains of his home world and his eventual return to Earth that sets the events of the film in motion.

The entire sequence reportedly costs $10 million to create. Even though it was cut from the film, a few brief glimpses of it were featured in the teaser and theatrical trailers, particularly shots of Superman in a crystal ship built specifically for his journey to explore the remains Krypton.
