July 26, 2013: Donations Sought for "Adventures of Superman" Memorial Plaque

by Neil Cole

The Adventures Continue is proud to announce "Celebration 2014" which will honor the 100th birthdays of George Reeves, Jerry Siegel, and Joe Shuster; 60 years of the "Adventures of Superman"; and 25 years of The Adventures Continue.

In a public ceremony scheduled for the morning of August 16, 2014, a special plaque will be dedicated at 5400 Wilbur Avenue in Tarzana. This spot is important to fans of the Adventures of Superman because it was featured in "The Man Who Could Make Dreams Come True" (Episode #29, filmed in June, 1953) and is the only outdoor location to have featured all five main characters from the tv series; Inspector Henderson, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Clark Kent.

Actor Jack Larson (who starred as Jimmy Olsen) will be on hand during the ceremony to help with the dedication.

The cost of the plaque and installation is $1,000 and donations are currently being accepted. Contributions may be made by check or money order and mailed to:
