June 24, 2012: Superman Plaque to Commemorate George Reeve's 100th Birthday

2014 will mark the 100th anniversary of the "Adventures of Superman" star George Reeves's birth.

According to a recent article by Armand Vaquer, plans are currently underway to celebrate this momentis occassion by placing a memorial plaque at the filming location of the 1953 "Adventures of Superman" episode, "The Man Who Could Read Minds."

The episode featured a stakeout of the Metropolis Police Department seeking the capture of "The Phantom Burglar" and starred Clark Kent (George Reeves), Perry White (John Hamilton), Lois Lane (Noel Neill), Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson) and Inspector Henderson (Robert Shayne).

The plaque's location will be at the intersection of Wilbur and Linnet in Tarzana, California where, according to Superman historian Michael J. Hayde, the shoot occurred during the week of June 15, 1953.
