May 2, 2011: Historical Marker Honoring Superman Creators Recovered

The Cleveland historical marker honoring Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster that was stolen a few days ago has been found.

Superman collector and a founding member of the Siegel and Shuster Society, Jamie Reigle informs the Superman Super Site that the marker was recovered and turned into the Society on Monday.

It is believed that theives targeted the marker since, due to it's color, appeared to be made of bronze even though it is actually made of aluminum.

The plaque tells how Siegel and Shuster beat the odds to create perhaps the most recognizable fictional character in the world.

Reigle also stated he would like to thank everyone who spread the word about the theft and helped Cleveland and the Siegel & Shuster Society get this city landmark back.
