A new promotional image of "Man of Steel" star, Henry Cavill as Superman is featured on the cover of the "Summer Movie Preview" issue of Entertainment Weekly.

The image (pictured at right) showcases Cavill decked out in the redesigned Superman costume from the Zack Snyder helmed reboot of the Superman film franchise.

The issue discusses how the highly anticipated film attempts to humanize the iconic character by finding new flaws and vulnerabilities with Snyder revealing that a certain green rock won't be one of them.

"I'll be honest with you," states Snyder in the article. "There's no Kryptonite in the movie."

The issue also reveals that Kal-El's birth on Krypton is cause for alarm and, on Earth, he grows up constantly hiding who he is while feeling isolated and longing for a connection to others.

"Although he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind," says Cavill. "He is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties."

This summer, "Man of Steel" is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.

"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Christopher Meloni.

The film opens nationwide on June 14, 2013.
