March 7, 2012: New Synopsis Revealed for "Man of Steel"

As part of DC Comics' website relaunch, a new "Man of Steel" page has been set up which is dedicated to director Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the Superman film franchise.

Although the "Man of Steel" page is pretty limited in terms of new information at the moment, there is this new synopsis listed which gives fans some insight into what to expect from the new film:

“Superman takes to the skies once more as acclaimed actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Immortals) dons the suit, cape and S-shield of the MAN OF STEEL.

With an all-star cast that includes Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as John and Martha Kent, Clark’s earthbound parents; Oscar® winner Russell Crowe as Superman's Kryptonian father Jor-El; The Fighter's Amy Adams as intrepid Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane; The Matrix's Laurence Fishburne as editor Perry White; and Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon as Superman’s otherworldly archenemy General Zod, populations from Smallville to Metropolis are psyched for Superman. With the directorial stylings of 300's Zack Snyder and the superheroic production team behind Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the sky's the limit for the last son of Krypton”

"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Jonathon 'Pa' Kent, Diane Lane as Martha 'Ma' Kent, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Richard Schiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton, Cooper Timberline as Clark Kent (Age 9), Dylan Sprayberry as Clark Kent (Age 13), Jadin Gould as Lana Lang (age 13) and Robert Gerdisch as Whitney Fordham (age 14).

Superman is scheduled to make his return to the silver screen on Friday, June 14, 2013.
