StyleWeekly.com has confirmed that young actor Cooper Timberline will portray a pre-teen version of Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel". Here's an excerpt from the article:

Young actor Cooper Timberline is about to be the most famous kid in Richmond, if he isn’t already, playing the boy who grows up to be Superman in the movie reboot of the iconic comic book story.

The 11-year-old landed the role of a young Clark Kent in June. “There was a little bit of nervousness, but mostly honor, getting to play that,” he says by phone on his way to Fox Elementary School, where he’s a fifth-grader.

The Superman Super Site originally reported on Timberline's rumored casting in a November, 2011 article.

"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Jonathon 'Pa' Kent, Diane Lane as Martha 'Ma' Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Richard Schiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton, Dylan Sprayberry as Clark Kent (Age 13), Jadin Gould as Lana Lang (age 13) and Robert Gerdisch as Whitney Fordham (age 14).
