January 13, 2012: "Green Arrow" TV Series Very Close to Becoming Reality
Entertainment Weekly reports that The CW network is very close to ordering a pilot episode of a new "Green Arrow" tv series.
The character, which first debuted in comic books in 1941, was brought to life by actor Justin Hartley (pictured at right) on the hit CW series Smallville and appeared in over 70 episodes.
Unfortunately for Smallville fans, according to the EW article, Hartley will not be involved with the new series.
Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters) and Marc Guggenheim (FlashForward), who also both worked on the 2011 "Green Lantern" film, will serve as Executive Producers and writers on the new series along with Andrew Kreisberg who has previously worked on the Green Arrow comic book. Berlanti Productions is producing in association with Warner Bros. Television.
