Oscar-nominated actor and screenwriter Joseph Bologna has passed at the age of 82 following a three year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Best known for his leading role in the 1982 classic comedy "My Favorite Year", younger audiences will remember Bologna as the voice of hot-headed police officer Dan Turpin in "Superman: The Animated Series"; a role he would star in for 12 episodes as well as the animated feature film "Batman/Superman: World's Finest".
Other well known acting roles throughout the actor's 60-year career included such films as "Transylvania 6-5000," "Blame It On Rio," "Big Daddy," "Ice Age: The Meltdown" and the musical "Rags to Riches". He was also a recipient of the Night of 100 Stars Oscar Gala Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in Hollywood.
Bologna is survived by his wife of 52 years, Renée Taylor as well as his daughter Zizi Bologna and his son Gabriel Bologna.
