July 14, 2014: Gary Oldman Skeptical About "Batman v. Superman"

Actor Gary Oldman recently sat down with Yahoo! Movies to discuss his latest film, "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."
During the course of the interview, Oldman was asked about his feelings towards "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and the return of Batman to the big screen so soon after director Christopher Nolan's recent blockbuster trilogy.
Oldman, who of course starred as Commissioner Gordon in the Nolan films, sounded skeptical but open-minded about the film and the Dark Knight's return. Here's an excerpt from the interview:
“They want to keep it going. Of course they do. But, it’s Superman yeah? Batman and Superman together? We shall see.”
“The thing about Nolan, there was some grounding of reality to it. In our trilogy, and as fantastical and as big as The Joker was, it was based [on reality]… we could relate to it.”
“But now we’ve got a Batman and we’ve got a guy who can fly who’s an alien?! We’ll have to see…”
“It’s got big shoes to fill”.
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Princess Diana, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Holly Hunter in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
The film is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, and is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
