Following the less-than-expected earnings for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", Warner Bros. continues to make changes to their overall plans for future movies based on the iconic characters of DC Comics.
The Hollywood Reporter states that the latest shake-up comes in the form of the studio shifting the role of Producer Charles Roven to where he will no longer be involved in the day-to-day production on a large percentage of these upcoming films. Here's an excerpt from the article:
"Warner Bros. wants to ramp up the number of DC productions, and sources say it would be physically impossible for one man to handle pre-, post- and production on multiple movies in locations ranging from Australia to Los Angeles to Louisiana to London… Roven was slated to be a producer on The Flash and Aquaman, two DC films that have yet to go into production and could end up shooting on opposite ends of the planet. Sources tell THR he will no longer serve in that capacity on those films."
This news is the latest in a series of announcements surrounding the upcoming slate of DC Comics films including Ben Affleck serving as an executive producer on "Justice League: Part One" and WB Executive VP Jon Berg and DC CCO Geoff Johns co-running the studio's newly formed entity, "DC Films".
