Henry Cavill has posted the following new photo via Instagram from his workout routine for "Justice League: Part One" and fans were quick to notice that the Superman star is now sporting a beard in the image:
This had led to speculation as to whether or not the Man of Steel will also appear with a beard when he somehow returns from the grave in the new film.
If so, it would certainly not be the first time Superman has appeared with facial hair on the big screen. The character had a bit of a five o'clock shadow in "Superman III" when he became the evil version of himself and also wore a beard for a good portion of "Man of Steel" during his early scenes as Clark Kent.
Superman has also donned a beard many times in the comics with a few examples being the "Exile" storyline in which, to distance himself from humanity after killing Zod, he travels into space and in the Mark Waid/Alex Ross miniseries "Kingdom Come" before he returns to the mantle of Superman.
It's also possible Cavill is just sporting a beard right now until it is time for him to film his scenes as Superman which may be a good bit down the road as the film itself just started filming a few weeks ago at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England.
"Justice League: Part One" is scheduled to premiere on November 17, 2017 which also marks the 25th Anniversary of the culmination of "The Death of Superman" comic book storyline.
