February 26, 2015: Free Public Lecture on Kryptonian Language Featured in "Man of Steel"

Posted by Neil Cole

The University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB will host a free public lecture on the Kryptonian Language featured in "Man of Steel" as part of the university's 23rd Annual Richard Frucht Memorial Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 4th beginning at 6:00PM.

The lecture - titled "Anthropology, Linguistics and the Man of Steel" - will be given by Dr. Christine Schreyer who, in addition to being the co-creator of the Kryptonian language in the blockbuster film, is a professor of linguistic anthropology at the University of British Columbia.

In 2011, Dr. Schreyer was invited to help develop the Kryptonian language for "Man of Steel" and, although she had researched and taught about created languages for some time, this was her first created language of her own.

For more information on the lecture, please visit the University of Alberta website and the Lecture Series Facebook page.
