January 23, 2015: Laura Vandervoort Extends Congratulations to Melissa Benoist

Actress Laura Vandervoort, who is best known for her former role as Kara/Supergirl on "Smallville", has passed along her congratulations via Twitter to Melissa Benoist on landing the title role of Supergirl on the upcoming CBS TV series.

Vandervoort also starred on the ABC television series "V" from 2009 - 2011 and currently stars in "Bitten" on the SyFy and Space Networks where she portrays the werewolf character of Elena Michaels.

The "Supergirl" pilot is expected to premiere in early Fall this year and will be executively-produced & written by Greg Berlanti ("Arrow," "Flash") and Ali Alder ("New Normal," "No Ordinary Family") along with Sarah Schechter.
