Warner Bros. Restructuring DC Films Division Following "Justice League" Performance

by Neil Cole

Warner Bros. is currently in the process of restructuring the studio's DC Films division following the underperforming box office earnings for "Justice League".

Variety reports that Jon Berg will leave his current position running the DC Films division and become a production partner with Roy Lee who has produced such blockbuster hits as "The Lego Movie" and "It". A search is currently underway for Berg's replacement

"This is something that Jon approached me about six months ago, and he expressed his goal was to ultimately be a producer at the studio," stated Warner Bros. Picture Group President Toby Emmerich to Variety. "I first met Jon when, as a producer, he brought 'Elf' to New Line, which remains one of the best and most evergreen titles in the library. We're thrilled that Jon is partnering with Roy and anticipate their company being a valuable source of movies for Warner Bros. and New Line."

Although Berg is stepping down from his position, Geoff Johns is expected to continue serving as the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment.

The article goes on to state that there are no immediate plans for Zack Snyder to return as director on any future DC Comics movies but he will continue to serve as an executive producer on "Wonder Woman 2" and "Aquaman."
