October 14, 2014: "Batman v. Superman" Leaving Detroit, Heading to New Mexico

Posted by Neil Cole

Filming of "Batman v. Superman" is coming to an end in and around the Detroit, MI area as crews prepare to move the production to the state of New Mexico.

Production was originally scheduled to shoot next in the Morocco region of Africa but, with the recent Ebola virus epidemic taking place in the country, it looks now looks like Deming, New Mexico will be used as an alternate filming location.

Adding credibility to the change in the filming venue, the New Mexico Film Office website posted that they were looking to cast entire families aged 8 and older to re-create an African village scene for a Warner Bros. movie.

Batman-News has also uncovered some Instagram posts from "Batman v. Superman" crew member John Dugan which also confirm that the production is heading to New Mexico.

"Next location here we go, flyin with pops!," posted Dugan before his flight. "See ya Detroit... Hello New Mexico!"

Once filming has wrapped in the Chicago, Illinois area, production is expected to get underway in New Mexico in mid-November.
