May 19, 2016: "Supergirl" Retains Monday Night Slot in Move to The CW

by Neil Cole

The CW Network presented its 2016-17 schedule to advertisers, affiliates and national media at New York City Center in New York City today, kicked off by the rock band Fitz and the Tantrums performing their hit singles "Handclap" and "The Walker."

"We have four terrific additions to our schedule next season, and five great anchors at eight o'clock, every night of the week," said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

"We are thrilled to have SUPERGIRL on The CW this fall, joining our popular roster of DC heroes," continued Pedowitz. "Plus, we have three new series lined up for next season that perfectly fit our brand, with the smart, charming comedy NO TOMORROW and the high-stakes drama FREQUENCY this fall, and the subversive take on small-town life, RIVERDALE, at midseason. With these four new series added to the strongest, most competitive schedule we have ever had, The CW just keeps getting better."

SUPERGIRL joins The CW this Fall, powering the network's Monday nights (8:00-9:00 pm ET/PT), followed by the everyday super-woman JANE THE VIRGIN (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).

The CW's most-watched and highest-rated series, THE FLASH, returns Tuesdays (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by the new romantic comedy about living every day like it might be your last, NO TOMORROW (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).

ARROW stays on target on Wednesday (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by the intense new drama FREQUENCY (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT), starring Peyton List, Riley Smith and Mekhi Phifer.

Thursday nights this Fall start with DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by SUPERNATURAL on a new night (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES are back on Friday (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by this year's Golden Globe Award-winner Rachel Bloom in CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (9:00-10:00 pm ET/PT).

The CW continues its commitment to high-quality original programming year-round as new series RIVERDALE joins THE 100, IZOMBIE, THE ORIGINALS and REIGN on its midseason roster.

The CW will launch its 2016-17 broadcast season in October, with premiere dates to be announced later.
