May 5, 2016: Future of "Supergirl" TV Series Still Uncertain

by Neil Cole

The possibility of a second season of the CBS television series "Supergirl" still remains uncertain as new reports indicate that the network and Warner Bros. are currently at odds over the costs associated with the show.

The Wrap states that anonymous sources have indicated that CBS would like to renew the series but the cost of $3-million per episode combined with less-than-stellar ratings is just too much of a risk for the network to agree to.

If a deal for a second season can not be negotiated, speculation points to the possibility of "Supergirl" moving to the CW Network which is co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros. However, the major drawback of such a move would mean a hefty budget cut due to the loss of major network dollars.

For now, the fate of "Supergirl - Season Two" remains up in the air but hopefully an official announcement concerning the series' fate will be made in the coming weeks.
