Following the recent announcement that DC Comics new streaming service, DC Universe, it has reportedly been announced that filming on the live-action television series "Metropolis" has been delayed for redevolpment.

The series was originally scheduled to start filming this summer for release in 2019 with a plotline taking place in the days before Superman's existence and focusing on Lois Lane and scientist Lex Luthor joining forces to "investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city's dark and bizarre secrets."

Deadline reports that DC has, for the time being, replaced production on "Metropolis" in favor of fast-tracking their new "Swampthing" live-action series for a premiere on the DC Universe streaming service in early 2019.

The new streaming service will also see premieres of the long-awaited third season of the "Young Justice" animated series, the live-action "Titans" series based on the iconic Teen Titans superhero team, and an all-new Harley Quinn animated series.
