"Superman: The Movie" Free Screening at UCLA Hammer Museum

by Neil Cole

The UCLA Hammer Museum will present a free screening of "Superman: The Movie" in it's original 35mm format in the venue's Billy Wilder Theater on Sunday, May 13th at 11:00AM.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's the big-budget update of the Man of Steel that turned a comic book hero into a blockbuster phenomenon 40 years ago. Starring a then-unknown Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman, director Richard Donner's adaptation is an old-fashioned adventure featuring great special effects, an otherworldly hero, and a stellar cast, including Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando.

The free screening of the 1978 blockbuster film is part of the theater's Family Flicks program and is open to all ages. For more information, please visit Cinema.UCLA.edu.
