January 27, 2014: Lou Ferrigno Talks Childhood Dreams of Being Superman

Bodybuilder-turned-actor, Lou Ferrigno was recently interviewed for Oprah Winfrey's show, "Where are They Now?" in which he talks about going from being an introverted boy who suffered from a severe hearing impairment to becoming one the strongest men in the world and landing the role as the title character on the tv series, "The Incredible Hulk."

During the course of the interview, Ferrigno also revealed that, as a child, he used to dream about being Superman some day and even went so far as to don a cape in an attempt to fly by jumping off the roof of his childhood apartment building.

"When I used to watch the Superman TV series with George Reeves, I really thought that Superman was real," stated Ferrigno.

"I jumped off the second story at my apartment; I had a red blanket, pretending I was Superman. When I hit the concrete, that was the end of reading the Superman comic or Superman period. So I used to focus more on The Incredible Hulk."
