January 14, 2011: David Boreanaz Interested in Auditioning for Superman Reboot?

According to MovieHole.com, actor David Boreanaz (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Bones) is interesting in auditioning for the lead role of Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot.

Boreanaz originally auditioned for the role in 2005 for Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" but obviously didn't get the part with the role going to actor Brandon Routh instead.

Considering that Warner Brothers and Snyder are looking for a relative unknown and that Boreanaz is 40, his chances may be pretty slim since he doesn't fit into the criteria and age bracket that they are apparently sticking to.

Furthermore, hundreds upon hundreds of actors will probably wind up auditioning for the role of the Man of Steel and, at this stage, it's likely that whoever is ultimately cast in the role has not even been the subject of a news story yet.

If Boreanaz does have the opportunity to audtion and ultimately land the lead role, it would actually be his second starring role in a superhero film. He previously starred as the voice of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in the 2008 animated film "Justice League: The New Frontier".
