Various Vintage Superman Props Head to Auction

A selection of vintage Superman props will be available at auction in the Prop Store Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction - Los Angeles which takes place June 29th, 30th, & July 1st, 2021.

Easily the most rare prop is a Mole Man head appliance from the classic 1956 superhero film, "Superman and the Mole Men" which featured actor George Reeves in his debut performance as the Man of Steel encountering a group of underground dwelling beings who have been disturbed by the drilling of the world's deepest oil well.

The latex bald cap is painted in pink fleshtones with thick brown hair around the sides and back, a black velveteen mannequin display head, and a matching black plaque engraved "Actual Headpiece from the 1951 film, 'Superman and the Mole Men,' starring George Reeves." It is in fair and fragile overall condition due to age and production use with scuffing and flaking to the paint, loose hairs, and tearing latex around the appliance's edges.

Other Superman items featured in the auction include a pair of Metropolis license plates from "Superman: II"; various Kryptonian crystals from "Superman: The Movie", "Superman: IV - The Quest for Peace", & "Superman Returns", and a model miniature of "Space Station Luthor" from the 1993 pilot episode of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman".
