Vancouver High School Hosting "The Adventures of Superman" Audio Play

The theatre department of Heritage High School in Vancouver, WA will present an audio play production of "The Adventures of Superman" classic radio program episode, "Batman's Great Mystery".

The classic episode originally aired on February 3rd - February 17th, 1948 and features the Boy Wonder, Robin seeking the aid of Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent (who he does not know is Superman) to help find Batman who has mysteriously gone missing.

Directed by Heritage High School theatre teacher Charlie Jackam and featuting current students and graduates, the audio play will showcase witty dialogue, soaring action, sound effects, and cliffhangers to bring listeners back next week.

"There are a number of writers putting out plays to be performed in these scenarios. I was thinking about visiting the idea of a radio play," stated Jackam in an interview with Clark County Today. "I thought it would be a good growing piece for the kids because, sometimes, we rely too much on what the audience can see and don't put enough into our voice."

Just like the original 1948 episode, the production of "Batman's Great Mystery" will be split up into 11 chapters which will air on the Vancouver Evergreen School District's YouTube channel weekly from April through May.
