Upper Deck Releases New Platinum: DC Trading Card Collection

Upper Deck has released Platinum: DC, a new trading card collection that brings the company's chromium Platinum treatment to characters and artwork from across the DC Universe.

The collection features a 200-card base set divided evenly between 100 cards showcasing newly commissioned original artwork and 100 cards featuring classic publishing artwork created by DC artists from the past and present. Superman is among the characters featured in the collection, with Upper Deck showcasing a Superman card illustrated by Brett Breeding among its official product images.

Collectors can find a wide assortment of colorful parallels, including Rainbow, Red Rainbow, Blue Rainbow and Purple Rainbow versions. Hobby boxes also offer an exclusive Orange Sparkle parallel serial-numbered to 33, along with patterned foil parallels such as Blue Traxx, Green Crackle and Purple Pixels. The rarest cards include 1-of-1 Golden Treasures.

Platinum: DC also includes Artist and Creator Autograph parallels as well as several new insert sets. Upper Deck lists Cliffhangers, Defining Moments and Carrying the Mantle among the featured inserts, along with Cover Variant cards.

On average, each Hobby box contains four base-set parallel cards serial-numbered to 99 or higher; three cards from the Cliffhangers, Defining Moments and/or Carrying the Mantle insert sets; one Rainbow parallel from one of those three insert sets; and one Cover Variant Rainbow Parallel.
