"The Art of DC: The Dawn of Super Heroes" Opening in Nagoya, Japan

"The Art of DC: The Dawn of Super Heroes" exhibition is opening at the Nagoya City Museum in Nagoya, Japan where it will be on display from from March 8th through May 8th, 2022.

An original creation by Art Ludique-Le Musée, "The Art of DC - The Dawn of Super Heroes" features nearly 160 original drawings, more than 200 preparatory sketches for the cinema and a curated selection of authentic costumes and props used in the films.

This exhibit showcases original drawings of DC's stable of famous Super Heroes and Super-Villains, as well as iconic scenes and landmarks, from world renowned artists including Jim Lee, Bob Kane, Neal Adams, Frank Miller, Alex Ross and many more.

Other attractions are the costumes and props in the films directed by Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder, such as Joker's suit with pop colors played by a great actor, Jack Nicholson, in the first movie of Batman, Batpot used in the Dark Knight series, Armor Batsuit and the costume of Wonder woman that appeared in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice".

Also on display are the original costumes from blockbuster DC films including the famous cape worn by Christopher Reeve in the Superman movies and Lynda Carter's iconic Wonder Woman costume from the 1970s TV series.

Featured areas at the exhibition will include:

THE SUPERMAN AREA

• Superman, who first appeared in Action Comics in 1938, then jumped out of comics and entered the world of anime and movies. It follows the story of Superman while introducing from the crimson cape in the movie "Superman" (1978) to costumes and art works used in the movie "Man of Steel" (2013) and "Batman VS Superman: The Birth of Justice" (2016).

THE BATMAN AREA

• Batman has swept the world as a masked hero since his debut in Detective Comics in 1939. On the other hand, the villains represented by The Joker attracted attention as a symbol of madness. Introducing popular items such as the batpod used in the movie "Dark Knight" series trilogy to the latest costumes of the villains at once.

THE SUICIDE SQUAD AREA

• "Suicide Squad", which was born in 1959, gradually became popular, and in the movie "Suicide Squad" (2016), the cute and bizarre character Harley Quinn made a big break. Harley's popularity became immovable in the following 2020 spin-off movie " Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) ". In addition to the street fashion style costumes worn by Harley in both films, " Bloodsport and Peacemaker costumes will be on display for the first time from the latest "The Suicide Squad.

THE WONDER WOMAN AREA

• Wonder Woman has been gaining popularity as a DC female hero since she first appeared in All-Star Comics in 1941. The costume worn by starring Lynda Carter in the 1970s television series, imitated the Stars and Stripes and made a brilliant impression. In addition to the costumes, the original drawings of the early dynamic comics will be displayed.

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE AREA

• Beyond the boundaries of each DC Comics work, Super Heroes have gathered under the name of "Justice League" since the 1960s. The members are exchangeable, but the main members are called Big Seven and are formed by Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and others. The exhibition will introduce iconic scenes and character images from the 2017 movie "Justice League", and precious comic originals.
