The 33rd Annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards were presented at a virtual ceremony as part of Comic-Con@Home on Friday evening, July 23rd with DC Comics having received 17 nominations across a variety of categories.
Two DC publications that received multiple nominations were "Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen" and "Superman Smashes the Klan" which won the following awards:
Best Limited Series: Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber (DC) Best Humor Publication: Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber (DC) Best Adaptation from Another Medium: Superman Smashes the Klan, adapted by Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru (DC)
The event was hosted by voice actor/comedian Phil LaMarr (MadTV, Samurai Jack, Futurama, Justice League), who announced the nominees and winners in 32 categories. Eisner Awards Administrator Jackie Estrada opened and closed the ceremony.
