"Superman in Concert" Premiering in Switzerland
The world premiere of "Superman in Concert" will be performed live by the City Light Symphony Orchestra at the KKL Lucerne Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland on Friday April 29th, 2022 at 7:30PM (CET).
Hollywood's best-known superhero returns to the big screen with the film that started it all: 1978's "Superman: The Movie". Now concert-goers can experience the "Man of Steel" in new splendor at the KKL Luzern, with the heroic film score by John Williams , performed live by the City Light Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Gabriele.
Director Richard Donner's film chronicles the inspirational origins of Superman. From his dramatic escape as an infant from the doomed planet of Krypton, to his formative years on a farm in Smallville, Kansas, to his arrival in Metropolis, where he played the good-natured reporter Clark Kent and the mysterious "Man of Steel." “ leads a double life.
In Donner's acclaimed film adaptation, a young Christopher Reeve embodies the titular hero, which has made him an international superstar. Joining him are Margot Kidder as intrepid reporter Lois Lane, Gene Hackman as villain Lex Luthor, and the inimitable Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
Just as legendary as Superman himself is the film music, written by five-time Oscar® winner John Williams. With the Superman March he composed one of the most striking film melodies ever. Accompanied by this fanfare, Superman begins to soar and the romantic love theme lets sparks fly between him and Lois.

Important NOTE
This performance of "Superman in Concert" is the replacement date for the concert that was originally scheduled to take place on January 28th, 2022 at the KKL Luzern Concert Hall. Due to the pronounced planning uncertainties in connection with the pandemic, the concert had to be postponed.
The concert tickets already booked for the aforementioned performance remain valid for the performance on April 29th, 2022.
