“Superman” Earns Two Nominations for 2026 Kids’ Choice Awards
“Superman” 2025

James Gunn’s Superman has received two nominations for the 2026 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, earning a place in the Favorite Movie category while David Corenswet is nominated for Favorite Movie Actor for his portrayal of Clark Kent and the Man of Steel. The recognition puts DC Studios’ 2025 superhero film among the titles competing for votes from young fans and audiences.

Released in theaters in July 2025, Superman introduced Corenswet as a new cinematic version of DC’s iconic hero. The film, written and directed by Gunn, co-stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and follows a Superman who relies on compassion, optimism and a belief in humanity as he finds his place in the world. Its two nominations recognize both the movie and Corenswet’s leading performance.

Although the film arrived in 2025, its inclusion in the 2026 awards is tied to an unusual change in the ceremony’s schedule—not a production delay or a late release. The show has been moved to November as part of a major broadcast expansion, creating a longer-than-usual gap between ceremonies. Reporting by The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline notes that the expanded eligibility period reaches back into mid-2025, helping ensure major pop-culture releases such as Superman remain in contention despite the ceremony taking place the following year.

The ceremony, billed as CBS Presents Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, marks the first time in the show’s nearly 40-year history that it will be simulcast on a major broadcast network, airing live on CBS and Nickelodeon. The move also shifts the awards from their customary spring or summer window to the fall; the November 14, 2026 event will be the first Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony held in November since 1992. Alex Warren is set to host the show from Television City in Los Angeles, with streaming available on Paramount+. Fan voting opened October 8 across 36 categories.

Fans can support the film and its star through the official Kids’ Choice Awards voting page. With nominations for Favorite Movie and Favorite Movie Actor, Superman has a double presence on this year’s ballot—and the event’s expanded eligibility window provides a clear explanation for why a 2025 theatrical release is being recognized at the 2026 ceremony.
