The Museum of the Highwood in High River, Alberta is currently featuring an exhibit of screen used items from "Superman: III" which was filmed in and around the town in the summer of 1982.
Among the items on display are a Superman walking cape worn by Christopher Reeve, a green Kryptonite crystal, photographs from the filming, and various other pieces of memorabilia from the film.
Producers selected High River as the double for Smallville and transformed the downtown area into a replica of Clark Kent's hometown. A local victorian styled farmhouse was also chosen as Lana Lang's (Annette O'Toole) house and still stands to this day.
The filming was a landmark event for High River and a preview of its future as a popular film location destination including such television series as Caitlin's Way, Heartland, Fargo, Tin Star, Black Summer, and The Last of Us.
