DC Studios offered fans a new look at "Supergirl" during IGN Live 2026, debuting an exclusive clip featuring Milly Alcock's Kara Zor-El in an unusual contest of strength against an alien opponent. Set in what appears to be an extraterrestrial tavern or gathering place, the scene highlights Supergirl's confidence and power as she engages in an arm-wrestling match that quickly escalates beyond a friendly competition.
The footage provides another glimpse into the film's cosmic setting and its portrayal of Kara as a more worldly and battle-tested hero than previous screen incarnations. Rather than focusing solely on traditional superhero action, the sequence emphasizes the character's personality, resilience and willingness to immerse herself in the cultures and environments she encounters across the galaxy.
Directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl is inspired by the acclaimed DC Comics series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The film follows Kara on an interstellar journey alongside Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young companion seeking justice, as they travel through a universe filled with danger, adventure and unexpected encounters.
The cast includes Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham, with Jason Momoa making his debut as the bounty hunter Lobo. Scheduled for release on June 26, 2026, Supergirl is expected to be a key installment in DC Studios' expanding cinematic universe and one of the franchise's most ambitious cosmic adventures to date.
