Rare 1954 "Superman Flies Again" Poster Available at Auction
A rare "Superman Flies Again" poster from 1954 is currently available for proxy bidding in the "Movie Posters Signature Auction" which is hosted by Heritage Auctions.
In 1954, 20th-Century Fox purchased fifteen episodes of the television series, "The Adventures of Superman" and released them internationally as five feature films. This 27" x 41" poster advertises three of the episodes - "Jet Ace," "The Dog Who Knew Superman," and "The Clown Who Cried" starring George Reeves as Clark Kent/Superman, Noel Neill as Lois Lane, Jack Larson as Jimmy Olsen, Robert Shayne as Inspector Henderson, and John Hamilton as Daily Planet editor Perry White.
There is fold wear, bits of paper loss, edge wear with small chips, and tears on the folds, a tape stain and toning on the top border, and torn pinholes. The posters for this series are extremely rare and eagerly sought by both movie fans and comic collectors.
