Nicolas Cage May Have Been Bizarro in Kevin Smith DC Series

Warner Bros Discovery recently announced that the studio was canceling their Batgirl movie along with other yet-to-be-revealed projects planned for the service including an animated series titled "Strange Adventures".

Kevin Smith has now revealed that he was scheduled to direct at least one episode of the series in which he would have liked to cast actor Nicolas Cage as the voice of the iconic DC Comics anti-hero, Bizarro alongside Jimmy Olsen and Perry White from the Daily Planet.

"We didn't lock it in, he wasn't signed to a contract," stated Smith in an interview with Hollywood Babble-On. "But, the person that we were pursuing to play Bizarro was Nicolas Cage."

Smith's casting of Cage in the role would have been an homage to the actor's original role as Superman/Clark Kent in the canceled 1990's film by director Tim Burton, "Superman Lives!". Since that time, Cage has voiced the role of the Man of Steel in the 2018 animated comedy, "Teen Titans GO! to the Movies".

Smith went on to mention that each episode would have had an estimated budget of $16-20 million for each episode and feature none of the major IP characters from the DC Universe.
