New "Supergirl" Clip Reveals Kara Zor-El and Krypto's First Meeting With Superman

Posted on June 05, 2026 by Neil Cole

DC Studios has released a new clip from its highly anticipated "Supergirl" feature film, offering audiences their first look at the emotional introduction between Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) and her cousin, Superman (David Corenswet), in the evolving DC Universe (DCU). The scene depicts Superman discovering a young Kara emerging from her Kryptonian pod near the Fortress of Solitude, establishing the foundation of their relationship while highlighting the cultural and language barriers that separated the two Kryptonian survivors. The footage also features Krypto the Superdog, further expanding the character's role within the DCU.

The newly released footage arrives as Warner Bros. and DC Studios intensify promotion for Supergirl, scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 26, 2026. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, the film stars Alcock as a more hardened and battle-tested Kara Zor-El, whose journey differs significantly from Superman’s upbringing on Earth. Inspired by elements of Tom King’s acclaimed comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the film follows Kara on an interstellar adventure alongside Krypto and newcomer Ruthye Marye Knoll while confronting the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills.
