Warner Bros. and DC Studios have announced that the digital edition of "Superman" will receive an expanded suite of bonus content beginning September 23rd. The update includes a newly released deleted scene featuring Mr. Terrific and Krypto the Superdog, alongside a full director's commentary from James Gunn and additional supplemental material.
The deleted sequence, first shared by Collider, depicts Mr. Terrific attempting to enlist Krypto's assistance in reaching the Daily Planet's ship, where Lois Lane and her colleagues are stranded. The exchange underscores the formidable nature of Superman's loyal companion and provides fresh context for behind-the-scenes footage, clarifying how Mr. Terrific was able to work with Krypto without his T-Spheres being destroyed.
In addition to the Mr. Terrific and Krypto sequence, the release features several other deleted scenes, including "Bedroom Kiss" and "Lombard in the T-Craft," as well as a gag reel. Owners of the digital version will automatically receive these additions. For audiences who have not yet purchased the film, both digital and physical editions containing the expanded bonus content will be available beginning September 23rd. Formats include 4K Ultra HD Steelbook with Digital, standard 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD.
"Superman" is currently available for purchase or rental on Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Plex, and Amazon Prime, with pre-orders for physical editions now open.
