Metropolis, IL Hosting Super Solar Eclipse Celebration

In celebration of the upcoming solar eclipse, Superman's official hometown of Metropolis, IL will be hosting a Super Solar Eclipse Celebration starting this Saturday, April 6th through the day of the actual eclispe on Monday, April 8th.
Reserve your spot for the Super Solar Eclipse Celebration featuring not only a dynamic marketplace but also enlightening sessions with NASA scientists, heart-pounding performances by live bands, and, of course, the breathtaking solar eclipse experience. Secure your spot for a weekend packed with celestial wonders and enriching activities.
Metropolis, IL lies within the direct path of solar eclipse totality and will experience 2 minutes and 33.1 seconds of complete darkness during the peak of the eclipse. This marks the second time that the town has experienced a total solar eclipse having previously been within the direct path of the 2017 celestial event.
Planned events and activities scheduled to take place during the Super Solar Eclipse Celebration include a Super Glow Run, Moon Glow Street Dance, inflatables, NASA presentation, poker run, live music with "Southern Draw", food vendors, wrestling with Tennessee Wrestling, classic car cruise, live concert featuring "A Different Sound" at Harrah's Metropolis Hotel & Casino, and an Eclipse Viewing Area.
Limited edition t-shirts, posters, and stickers will be available for purchase as well as eclipse viewing glasses while supplies last.
