First Look - McFarlane Toys Collector Edition Val-Zod Superman Figure

McFarlane Toys has unveiled a Superman (Earth 2) action figure inspired by Val-Zod, the alternate-universe Man of Steel, as part of its DC Multiverse Collector Edition series. The seven-inch release is designated Collector Edition No. 71.

Preorders for the figure are scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 29, at noon Eastern. The collectible recreates Val-Zod’s recognizable Superman costume and cape, drawing on his appearance in DC Comics.

A Platinum Edition variant featuring an alternate color scheme is also planned. The announcement expands McFarlane Toys’ selection of Superman characters beyond the familiar Clark Kent incarnation.

Introduced during DC’s New 52 era, Val-Zod is a Kryptonian survivor from the alternate world of Earth 2 who eventually assumes the mantle of Superman. Initially a pacifist, he comes to accept the responsibility of protecting his world, presenting a distinct interpretation of Superman’s legacy.

The figure follows McFarlane Toys’ other previews of upcoming DC collectibles which were on display at the recent New York Comic Con.
