MAFEX Unveils New Doomsday and Battle-Damaged Superman Figures

Medicom Toy has unveiled new MAFEX action figures based on one of the most significant storylines in Superman comic book history, introducing highly detailed interpretations of Doomsday and Superman as depicted during their climactic confrontation in “The Death of Superman.” The 1/12-scale figures expand the company’s growing DC Comics lineup and are designed to capture the visual impact of the landmark 1990s storyline.
The Doomsday figure portrays the Kryptonian-destroying monster with his distinctive bone-like protrusions and imposing physique. The collectible is equipped with multiple interchangeable facial expressions and alternate hands, giving collectors a range of options for recreating the character’s aggressive poses. A damaged Superman cape is also included, adding a storytelling element that connects the figure directly to Doomsday’s battle with the Man of Steel.
The accompanying Battle-Damaged Superman figure depicts the hero during the final stages of his fight with Doomsday. It includes three interchangeable portraits, multiple replacement hands and a heat-vision effect, allowing collectors to portray Superman in different stages of the confrontation. A specially designed display base inspired by the events surrounding Superman’s death further enhances the figure’s presentation.
The two figures are intended to complement one another, providing collectors with the opportunity to recreate the confrontation that culminated in “Superman #75,” the landmark 1992 issue in which Superman sacrificed himself to stop Doomsday. The storyline became a defining moment in the character’s history and generated widespread attention beyond the comic book industry.
Medicom Toy has not yet announced pricing, a release date or the start of preorders for either MAFEX figure. Additional product information is expected to be released as the collectibles move closer to market.
