"Krypton" Possibly Heading Towards Cancellation

by Neil Cole

A third season renewal of the Syfy television series "Krypton" is gradually beginning to seem less and less likely.

As of the airing of the most recent episode, the series slipped to an all-time low 0.09 rating based on same day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 371K total viewers.

As a whole, season two viewership for "Krypton" has been down notably over the first season and ratings are well below levels of other Syfy shows which have been cancelled by the network.

In addition to the low ratings, there has been speculation at Belfast Harbour Studios in Northern Ireland where "Krypton" is filmed that the series is heading towards cancellation and the studio sets may be torn down in the very near future.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel's home planet, "Krypton" follows Superman's grandfather - whose House of El was ostracized and shamed - as he fights to redeem his family's honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

As of this writing, there has been no official confirmation in regard to the cancellation of "Krypton" or a renewal for a third season of the series.
