James Gunn Shares Photo with "Superman: Legacy" Villain María Gabriela De Faría

Director James Gunn has shared an image on his official Threads account alongside actress María Gabriela De Faría who will star in "Superman: Legacy" as the DC Comics villain, The Engineer/Angela Spica.
"With the Engineer herself, @thefaria, in town for stunts and costume fittings for Superman," stated Gunn. "You guys are gonna love this character on screen!"
The Engineer was created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch and first appeared in 1999 in "The Authority #1". She is a founding member of The Authority who has a liquid body due to nanites in her bloodstream which gives her vast mechanical abilities and to create many things such as radio-telepathy bugs, weaponry, rocket engines, replacement lungs to cope with unfamiliar atmospheres and even additional copies of herself.
"Superman: Legacy" tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
In addition to De Faría's role as The Engineer, the film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and model Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher.
"Superman: Legacy" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
