Jacob Elordi Talks Turning Down Opportunity to Portray Superman

Posted on November 13, 2023 by Neil Cole

During the course of a recent interview with GQ Magazine, actor Jacob Elordi talked about turning down an opportunity he once had to audition for the role of Superman.

"They asked me to read for Superman," stated Elordi. "That was immediately, 'No, thank you.' That's too much. That's too dark for me."

"I've always been told to say a rounded answer or my agent will get mad at me. 'Anything can happen!'," added Elordi. "And obviously anything can happen, but at this stage in my life, I don't see myself having any interest in that. I like to make what I would watch, and I get very restless watching those movies."

While Elordi does not reveal specifically what project he would have been auditioning for, it was most likely "Superman: Legacy" which ultimately saw actor David Corenswet landing the role of the Man of Steel after beating out such other contenders as Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney.

Elordi is currently starring the role of Elvis Presley in "Priscilla" opposite actress Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley. Check out Elordi's full interview with GQ Magazine here.
