Henry Cavill Discusses Ideas for Future Superman Storylines

In a new interview with GQ, Henry Cavill talks about his past role as Superman and where he invisions the character going in the DC Extended Universe following the events of Justice League.

"I was very keen on really fleshing out Superman's early stages of his journey first," states Cavill. "We had 'Man of Steel', and then we went quite a bit darker with 'Batman v Superman'. And if he were to succumb to the Anti-Life Equation, and become bad Superman, I really wanted to make sure we saw the hero Superman, and we saw the true symbol of hope, the beacon of light, before we went down the path of darkness and then redemption. And it's still something that I am very keen to flesh out."

Cavill is certainly keen of returning to the role of Superman and the possibility of a direct sequel to "Man of Steel" have been in various stages of development over the years including a version pitched to Warner Bros. by director Christopher McQuarrie ("Mission Impossible: Fallout") as well as the studio approaching James Gunn ("The Suicide Squad") with the offer to direct the film.

During the course of the GQ interview, Cavill also touches on other characters he has portrayed including Geralt of Rivia ("The Witcher"), Sherlock ("Enola Holmes"), August Walker ("Mission Impossible: Fallout"), and Napoleon Solo ("The Man From U.N.C.L.E.").
