GalaxyCon Des Moines to Feature Superman and Supergirl Stars

Superman and Supergirl fans will have the opportunity to meet four actors with ties to the legendary DC franchises when GalaxyCon Des Moines takes over the Iowa Events Center from Sept. 11-13, 2026. The convention's announced guest roster includes Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh, James Marsters and Helen Slater, representing multiple generations of live-action Superman and Supergirl productions.
Leading the lineup is Tyler Hoechlin, who portrayed Clark Kent and Superman in Supergirl before headlining all four seasons of "Superman & Lois". He is joined by Brandon Routh, whose Superman legacy spans the 2006 feature film "Superman Returns" and his return as the Kingdom Come Man of Steel during The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. Together, the pair represent two of the most recognizable live-action portrayals of the Last Son of Krypton in the past two decades.
The convention will also welcome James Marsters, remembered by Superman fans for his recurring role as the villain Brainiac in "Smallville". Marsters' portrayal of the Kryptonian artificial intelligence became one of the series' defining interpretations of the iconic Superman adversary, appearing across multiple seasons of the long-running television drama.
Rounding out the Superman family reunion is Helen Slater, who starred in the 1984 feature film "Supergirl" as Kara Zor-El. Slater later returned to the DC universe in Supergirl as Eliza Danvers, the adoptive mother of Kara Danvers, creating a unique connection between two generations of the character. Her dual roles have cemented her place as one of the franchise's most enduring and beloved figures.
GalaxyCon Des Moines will be held Sept. 11-13, 2026, at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa. In addition to its celebrity guest lineup, the three-day event will feature comics, cosplay, artists, vendors, gaming and fan programming, with autograph sessions and photo opportunities available throughout the weekend for the convention's Superman and Supergirl guests.
