David Corenswet Suits Up as Superman in Official First-Look at Costume

Director James Gunn has shared the official first-look at actor David Corenswet in costume as the Man of Steel in the upcoming 2025 film, "Superman" (formerly "Superman: Legacy") along with the caption, "Get ready".
The photo, which Gunn states "was taken by Jess Miglio, our intrepid still photographer, and is entirely in-camera", reveals Corenswet suiting up in the iconic costume - which appears to be a bit battle worn, dirty and weathered - while some type of energy beam blasts across the sky outside the window.
This latest version of the Superman costume features the classic blue, red, and yellow colors complete with the new "S" shield, raised collar, boots, cape, and - looking closely - the apparent return of the red trunks and yellow belt.
"Superman" tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
In addition to Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, the film stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, María Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent.
"Superman" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
