DC: Dark Legion Brings Halloween and Superman Together in Dark Genesis Update
FunPlus introduces Superman Death Metal as an obtainable champion in a new Halloween-themed storyline featuring Batman Death Metal, Zatanna and Constantine.
FunPlus is bringing Halloween and DC’s Superman together in the latest update for DC: Dark Legion, introducing the new Dark Genesis storyline and making Superman Death Metal available as an obtainable champion. The limited-time event begins October 22 and takes players into a dark multiversal adventure as the boundary between worlds weakens around Halloween.
The story begins after heroes discover that Superman Death Metal is still alive but imprisoned in another dimension. Working alongside Batman Death Metal, Zatanna and Constantine, players must reconstruct the coordinates of his prison and stabilize a ritual before traveling through the Land of the Dead to rescue the Man of Steel. Their mission soon turns into a fight for survival as the Pararobins and Darkfather’s remaining forces stand between the heroes and their escape.
Superman Death Metal, a much-anticipated addition to the game’s roster, can be unlocked through rewards earned during the event. Players can collect materials and champion shards through the various activities and exchange them in the event shop, where another featured reward is a new player base skin inspired by the Bottle City of Kandor. The update further expands the game’s growing collection of alternate DC character interpretations.
The Dark Genesis update includes several Halloween-themed activities. Mystic Search allows players to dispatch champion squads to gather materials needed to activate the rescue portal, while Solar Sonar uses the Disk of Ra to unlock milestone rewards and special Supercharge attack bonuses. Mystic Alignment challenges players to illuminate a 16-space occult board, and Unchained Payback sends Superman Death Metal into battle against Pararobins and Devastator’s Minions, with Wonder Woman Death Metal and Batman Death Metal providing additional bonuses.
The Dark Genesis event runs from October 22 through November 8, 2026. Players can also claim the reward code WEBGIFT from October 25 through October 31 at 23:59 UTC. DC: Dark Legion is available on iOS, Android and PC, with the official game site providing additional information about the latest update and its growing roster of DC champions.
