Beast Kingdom Reveals Blackest Night Superman for Walmart Collector Con
Beast Kingdom is bringing a dark new version of the Man of Steel to Walmart Collector Con with its Dynamic 8ction Heroes Blackest Night Superman. The 1/9-scale collectible reimagines Superman as an undead Black Lantern-inspired figure, featuring a distressed, decayed appearance and the distinctive Black Lantern emblem across his chest. The figure was revealed ahead of Walmart Collector Con and joins Beast Kingdom’s continuing line of highly articulated DC collectibles.
Drawing inspiration from the dark mythology of Blackest Night, Geoff Johns’ landmark 2009 DC Comics crossover, the figure gives Superman a dramatically different appearance from the traditional heroic versions commonly represented in the collectibles market. Beast Kingdom’s design emphasizes the character’s undead transformation through its heavily distressed sculpt, dark costume and silver-toned Superman insignia, creating a visually striking interpretation of the Man of Steel.
As part of Beast Kingdom’s Dynamic 8ction Heroes series, the collectible is presented in 1/9 scale with the articulated construction and detailed sculpting associated with the line. According to DCCollectors, DAH releases typically feature more than 20 points of articulation, soft-goods tailoring and interchangeable accessories, while this particular release focuses on capturing the decayed look and distinctive visual elements of Black Lantern Superman.
The Blackest Night Superman retails for US47.97.00 and is scheduled to be offered exclusively through Walmart as part of Walmart Collector Con.
