Adria Arjona Teases Mystery “Man of Tomorrow” Role Amid Wonder Woman Rumors
Actress Adria Arjona is offering new details about the demanding preparation behind her still-undisclosed role in James Gunn’s upcoming DC Studios film Man of Tomorrow, adding further fuel to persistent rumors that the actress could be portraying Wonder Woman in the expanding DC Universe. Arjona has been confirmed as part of the film’s cast, but the identity of her character continues to be kept under wraps.
The 34-year-old actress revealed that her preparation for the film has involved an extensive physical transformation, including hours of daily training and a strict nutritional regimen. “I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life,” Arjona said, adding that she is “really excited” about the project. Her intensive preparation has only heightened speculation surrounding the role, particularly as rumors continue to circulate that she may be portraying Diana Prince, better known as Wonder Woman. While earlier reports linked Arjona to the Superman character Maxima, her actual role has never been officially announced, and Wonder Woman speculation has persisted throughout the production.
Arjona also expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Gunn and DC Studios co-chairman and co-CEO Peter Safran, who previously worked with her on the 2016 film The Belko Experiment. “They gave me my first movie,” Arjona said while discussing the importance the filmmakers have played in her career. She added that she “wouldn’t have done any of the movies” subsequently discussed in the interview without Gunn and Safran helping launch her film career.
The secrecy surrounding Arjona’s character has helped make her casting one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding Man of Tomorrow. Wonder Woman has yet to be officially cast for Gunn and Safran’s DC Universe, and Arjona previously sidestepped questions about the rumors during San Diego Comic-Con rather than denying them outright. Gunn has also previously said Arjona would make a “great” Wonder Woman, although that comment was made before her Man of Tomorrow casting and did not constitute confirmation that she had been selected for the role.
Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027, with David Corenswet returning as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Until DC Studios officially identifies Arjona’s character, reports that she is playing Wonder Woman remain unconfirmed, but her intensive training, the continued secrecy surrounding her role and her careful responses to questions about Diana Prince are likely to keep the speculation alive.
